Every year, millions of road traffic collisions occur worldwide. In the critical minutes after impact, first responders, insurers, and automakers are all working with incomplete information. 4SENS GmbH was founded to change that — permanently.
The automotive industry has spent decades engineering vehicles to survive collisions. Crumple zones, airbags, seatbelt pretensioners — passive safety systems that absorb energy and protect occupants. But the moment a collision ends, the data disappears. No one knows exactly what happened inside the cabin. No one knows precisely where the occupants were struck, with what force, or with what consequence.
ImpactIQ is our answer to that gap. By embedding a distributed sensor fabric beneath every interior surface in the vehicle cabin, 4SENS would capture the full picture of every collision event — in real time, with precision, and in full GDPR compliance. We are at proof-of-concept stage, and we are seeking a leading global automotive engineering partner to develop this technology together.
4SENS GmbH is the product of a deliberate partnership between two highly specialised organisations — one with deep expertise in sensor fabric technology, the other with deep roots in hardware, software and web engineering.
Sensor Fabric Technology
PowerZone Group Technologies B.V. is a Netherlands-based global innovator in sensor fabric technology. PowerZone brings the core ImpactIQ sensor fabric — the proprietary material that makes full-cabin impact capture possible — along with the manufacturing expertise and IP portfolio that underpins the entire 4SENS system.
Hardware, Software & Web Engineering
Incoretex is an experienced team of hardware, software and web engineers that bring products online. Expand devices with superior connectivity solutions, integrate smart sensors to achieve competitive advantages and learn new ways to analyze your data using AI.
Aachen sits at the heart of European automotive engineering — home to RWTH Aachen University, one of Europe's leading technical universities, and within the dense automotive supplier corridor connecting Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands. 4SENS GmbH is headquartered here deliberately: to be close to the OEM and Tier 1 supplier ecosystem we serve, and to draw on the deep engineering talent pool that Aachen produces.
4SENS GmbH
Aachen, Germany
The automotive application of ImpactIQ sensor fabric is conceived during a separate project — the PZ1, a sensor fabric system for bulletproof vests providing immediate online data after an impact incident for Military and Police asset protection. Proof-of-concept testing of the PZ1 confirms the feasibility of real-time impact intelligence, revealing a natural path to saving lives on the road.
PowerZone Group Technologies B.V. and Incoretex GmbH establish 4SENS GmbH in Aachen, Germany, with a focused mandate: develop and commercialize a full-cabin automotive impact intelligence system.
Full prototype development phase is imminently awaiting partnership agreements. ImpactIQ sensor fabric modules will be engineered to automotive-grade specifications — including temperature range, vibration tolerance, and lifecycle durability requirements.
During prototype development, ImpactIQ onboard processing algorithms will be completed. DataSENS — the GDPR-compliant data storage and first responder coordination infrastructure — will be developed and validated in parallel.
Active engagement with Tier 1 automotive suppliers and OEMs for integration pathway discussions. ImpactIQ becomes production-ready and available for factory-fit integration during original vehicle manufacturing.
ImpactIQ is designed to capture exact force vectors, contact areas, and impact durations — not estimates. Every data point would be sensor-verified.
All collision data would be anonymized at the point of capture. No personally identifiable information would ever enter the data stream. GDPR compliance is not an afterthought — it is the architecture.
Every component of ImpactIQ is being designed to automotive lifecycle standards — operating across the full temperature range, vibration profile, and service life of a production vehicle.
ImpactIQ is conceived to integrate into existing infrastructure — OEM production lines, emergency dispatch systems, insurance claims platforms — not to replace them.
We are seeking a leading global automotive engineering partner to develop this technology together. If that is you, we want to talk.
